The month of March brings us another powerful phase of strong planetary action. We will be navigating life’s twists and turns with a Mercury retrograde and Total Lunar eclipse in Virgo.

Entering A Labyrinth

The divine messenger and trickster planet Mercury went into retrograde on February 26th and it will station direct on March 21st. Mercury retrograde is a time when the planet appears to move backwards in its orbit through the heavens and this happens 3-4 times a year. This period can be like entering a labyrinth – a mysterious and often confusing journey where you can find yourself going back and forth, however by the end of this phase information will be revealed and great benefits can come through what we learn during this time. The current Mercury retrograde occurs in the mystical and watery depths of Pisces, ruled by the planet Neptune. The shadow side of Neptune can manifest as fantasy, deception and delusion but alternatively, we can experience blessings such as creative inspiration and spiritual healing.

Dreams To Access Insight And Creativity

These themes will be emphasised strongly this month as not only Mercury but the Sun, Venus, Mars will be making their way through the poetic sign of Pisces. The element of water will be strong; emotions and the unconscious, dreams and memories will be powerful. During this retrograde Mercury will connect with Jupiter in Cancer in a beneficial aspect known as a water trine – a great time for healing conversations and writing from deep within. A perfect time to start a dream journal, recording your dreams to access insight and creativity. Venus and Mars will also connect in this beneficial aspect with Jupiter, so although we face challenge this month, there is also great hope and the possibilities for expansion.

Ground Yourself In Nature

On March 3rd we also had a total lunar eclipse full moon, in the sign of Virgo, bringing us back to earth and presenting us with a need for practicality. This lunar eclipse is in stark opposition to the Sun in the romantic and dreamy world of Pisces that we have found ourself enticed by. Ground yourself in nature, sit under a tree and feel the earth support you during these times of (possibly) tidal feelings. Lunar eclipses mark the culminating points and endings in our lives, what are you ready to leave behind? Virgo rules the areas of health, work and our daily routines, so it could be a good time to change your diet or let go of habits that do not serve you. Any small changes that you make in these areas can create positive results now.

The Torch Of Fire And Progress

After March 20th the energy will shift with the Sun’s move into Aries with the Spring Equinox, passing us the torch of fire and progress. Life will start to move forwards, which will be reinforced as Mercury also stations direct. As the Sun slips into Aries, it will soon encounter Neptune and Saturn later in the month, shining a spotlight on the beginning of new and revolutionary times , as manipulation and hidden truths continue to be brought to light, the seeds of new, creative and life affirming systems and ways of living can take root to expand our world and human consciousness.
