The month opens with a full moon in the water sign of Scorpio on May 1st . Scorpio is a sign of intensity and depth. Themes often related to this sign include shadows, secrets and power. Ruled by Pluto, the Scorpio full moon offers us an opportunity to transform something in our life. Emotions and uncomfortable truths could well rise to the surface

Sun Mercury Cazimi: Clarity and Revelations
The Sun and Mercury moving through Taurus can slow down and stabilise thinking and communications, although Mars is still moving through Aries, giving us the fiery spark of motivation. The Sun and Mercury conjoin or come together on the 14th of May which is known as a Mercury Cazimi – when Mercury is bathed in the purifying rays of the heart of the Sun; this can be a burst of clarity or revelation so look out for some valuable information.
This month we shift out of fiery Aries and into the Earth sign of Taurus encouraging us to get into the present moment and embrace the wonders of the physical world – get out into nature, cook, dance and enjoy the messy creativity of your art practice!
Spotlight on Creativity and Thinking Outside the Box
From the 17th of May Mercury enters it’ own sign of Gemini, increasing creative thinking and ideas. Once it enters Gemini Mercury soon encounters and connects with the plant Uranus, a planet of great visionary and rebellious nature – creative thinking outside of the normal constraints is definitely magnified during this time, so get into your studio or get out your notebook or go do something unusual that been calling to you and you could well connect with some spontaneous and zany brilliance.
As mercury moves on the Sun will join Uranus on May 22nd shining a spotlight on these themes again and Uranus can also herald unexpected events so embrace the creativity but also take time and care with what you are doing during this time – especially driving and travelling, as mishaps can occur.

At the end of the month, we have another full moon – this time in the sign of Sagittarius, the
sign of the truth-seeker and adventurer! This sign is ruled by Jupiter a planet of optimism,
abundance and expansion. This full moon is supported by the planets Saturn and Pluto
giving strength and power to ventures that promote themes such as higher learning,
freedom and ethics. Use this time to invest in projects and practices that expand your mind
and world and great things could happen!
