Wherever the Light Finds Us
You are the sunlight I need, for my photosynthesis
The flashlight I need, to make me make sense of this
You are the blue lights, to help the many, not the few
The fireworks to celebrate the good we can do
You are the starlight I see, everywhere I go
winking like fireflies, putting on their shows
You are the headlights, for us to see and be seen
Floodlights in arenas, hiding who’s behind the scenes
You are the spotlight on me, in the corner, off stage
The box lights, making me feel young for my age
You are the moonlight, we always see as sentimental
Forest fires rage, dismissed as environmental
You are my laser, to cut out lies and take stock
The lighthouse, to get me out of tight spots
You are the candles lit in memory, of those who are stardust
Missiles light up the sky, but we hope this peace will last
You are the love highlighting my heart, see it shining all around
wherever the light finds us, peace and joy will be found.
